What’s in my Makeup Bag? (Makeup on the go)

I’m kinda nosy. I always like to peek into others’ bags to see what kind of makeup and accessories they carry with them, it gives me an idea of their makeup style and can be quite inspiring (Oh hey, I need that colour in my life) so I’m writing a ‘What’s in my Makeup Bag’ post today for all you nosy people out there who also like to know what I take with me.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have one of these for the longest time. I’ve only ever carried lip balm in my handbag. It was time.

I make sure I carry a variety of colours depending on the occasion. It’s great to have a couple of reds, nudes/pinks and a berry shade.

(L to R) BellaPierre Cosmetics Clear lipstick (I like this as a clear gloss/base for matte lipsticks), Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red, Aliexpress MeNow Longlasting Lipstick in #26, Miss Claire lipliner in 01, P2 Absolute Color Lipstick in Madison Square, Essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss (Matte Effect) in Soft Nude and Miss Claire Longlasting Matte Lipstick in Antique Rose.

Just the standard products I need.

(L to R) Covergirl Clump Crusher by Lashblast mascara, NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown/Brown, Catrice eyeliner pen, Maybelline    Colossal Kajal and Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick in Iced Ivory.

Eyeshadows and Face Products

I carry a few neutral and a few coloured eyeshadows. You never know. Some standard base products as well.

(L to R) Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium, Miss Claire full coverage concealer in #7 Natural Beige, VOV Castledew single eyeshadow in VL331, Stagecolor Cosmetics Duo Eyelite in 905, Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder in 60 Natural Beige, ELF Blush and Bronzer duo in St. Lucia and a Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette quad which I received as a sample upon the purchase I made a few months ago.

I think it’s really necessary to carry some staple makeup brushes. I’m not a big fan of the latex sponges or powder puffs when it comes to applying powder makeup. I don’t think it spreads the product evenly at all, you just end up looking cakey mostly.

(L to R) Coastal Scents Synthetic powder brush, Sixplus flat shader brush, Sixplus small pencil brush, Claire’s blush brush and Claire’s small flat concealer brush.

I know it seems like they’re a lot of products, but that’s because… well, they are a lot. I have no excuse. I love my makeup. Sue me. I don’t put all of this on my face at once because that’s not cool. Don’t do it, guys. Just use what you think is necessary (or not, it’s your thing) If you HAD to carry 5 staples, I’d say go for eyeliner, pressed/loose powder, mascara, lipstick and a brow pencil. Done. You can double up the lipstick for blush and save products. Everything else can be applied with its own applicator.

Leave me a comment, like the post and tell me what you thought.
