Haul & Mini Review [Nykaa.com]

I recently hopped online to buy a back up of my favourite face wash (the Clean and Clear foaming face wash) and couldn’t resist picking up a couple more things as I was on the website. I got these three products from nykaa.com. I placed my order on a Friday and received my order the next Wednesday, which makes it 5 working days. Not too bad.

20150603_143158The order arrived in a relatively big cardboard box, secured in tape. I think the box was completely unnecessary as it’s just a waste of resources and they could have easily used a smaller box or packaging unit. The order was wrapped securely in bubble-wrap. Twice, even. Overall, I’m pretty happy with their customer service and their delivery so I’d probably order again.

The other two items I picked up were the Maybelline ClearGlow compact and the Ponds BB Cream, which I’d tried out at a friend’s place and really liked.

I’m not gonna go in detail about the face wash, I’ve been using this product for over two years and I haven’t gone back to any other. It’s amazing, smells fresh, gets rid of all the dirt and oil on my face and doesn’t dry my skin out. It’s super affordable too. I picked up the 150ML bottle, which cost Rs.130.

The Maybelline ClearGlow pressed powder comes in an adorable plastic baby pink compact case with a mirror and a latex sponge. They don’t have a great colour selection but you gotta be used to that by now, living in India. Brands here seem to have the impression that everyone has pale skin, somehow.

20150603_144302The shade I got was Nude Beige and it’s the darkest available one. It’s close enough for me to use as a setting powder so I’m not complaining. The texture is finely milled and incredibly smooth. Safe to say I’m gonna be carrying this around in my bag for touch ups. The powder retails for Rs.199 which is really affordable.

Since I really wanted to try the Ponds BB cream, I was really excited about this one. It’s difficult to find a true and genuine BB cream in the Indian market because most of them are just not the right consistency. The Maybelline one feels watery and thin, unlike a traditional BB cream, so when I tried this out and saw that the texture was so similar to my sister’s Missha BB Cream I’d tried, I knew I had to get it. Typically, BB creams don’t come in shades and this one is no exception.

The shade is a fair/medium golden beige. The golden undertones make it easy for this to blend onto my face. As it is a tad too light for me, I make sure I blend it in really well with my fingers and it gives that typical ‘brightening’ Korean makeup effect. I use bronzer to warm up my complexion a bit as this can look pretty pale on its own. It has the classic Ponds scent which I really like so no complaints there. I got the 20ML tube for Rs.140.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase and I’m excited to buy more stuff from here! Keep reading and leave me some nice comments πŸ™‚

Bye!
